Assignment 5 - Researching the Dependent Variable
The dependent variable(s) is the thing or things that are measured. These are the variables/things that respond to the independent variable. In other words, describe the measurement processes or devices that will be used to collect the data derived during the experiment. During this assignment, you will be researching the dependent variable or variables of your science project.

To complete this assignment:
  • Open your school Google Docs account (a link is available on the Wiscasset High School home page)
  • Click on "Create new"
  • Scroll down to: "from template"
  • Scroll down to: "Dependent Variable Research Template"
  • Click on "Use this template"
  • Click on "File"
  • Scroll down to: "Rename"
  • Rename this document by removing "Copy of" and replacing it with your name
  • Save this document


This template provides you with three boxes for information about the dependent variable(s) of your science project and three boxes to cite the information that you include on this form. Please use correct MLA citations and not just the URL for the website you used to acquire the information. Write the information in complete sentences.
  • Define the dependent variable(s) of your project
  • Provide brief but thorough information about the dependent variable(s) in the next two boxes. Explain how the data will be collected and how to use the measuring equipment.
