Graphical Analysis Graphical Analysis: is the visual display of the data. It allows you to make a visual comparison of the data.

For your display board, the data collected must be displayed in the form of a graph. Graphs illustrate how the independent and dependent variables are related to one another. The beauty of using Google Docs is that you already have your data in a Google Spreadsheet. You can open this spreadsheet and convert the data into a graph or set of graphs.

Graphs allow the researcher to present a visual interpretation of the data. The graphing of different trials allows a visual comparison of the data. Scientists use graphs or charts to help them explain the significance of the data they have collected. It helps them interpret the meaning of the data.

There are three basic types of graphs: line, bar, and pie.

Line graphs are used when the data collected is continuous.

Bar graphs are used when the data collected is not continuous or it is an average of multiple trials.

Pie graphs are used when percentages are calculated to help interpret the data that was collected.

To complete the assignment:

Open your Google Spreadsheet containing your data tables for your science experiment.

Highlight the data that you wish to make into a graph

Under the "Insert" tab, scroll to "Chart"

Highlight the type of graph you would like to produce.

Once you have a graph that you are satisfied with, save the chart.
